The fisheries industry centers on scallops, which amounts to approximately 80% of the entire haul.
In addition salmon, flounder, sea urchin, etc are harvested from bountiful aquatic resources.
In order to preserve resources, cultivation and liberation are performed, with the liberation operations of sea urchin and abalone being a sucess.
For the further promotion of "Fisheries Cultivation" and for the sake of processing foods, in 2007, thruogh arrangements with Tokai University, conferences were held as well as a spot was given for practical-hands on and research activities.
Effort is also being put into the cooperation/coordination with the "Kaihin Kouen" or Beachfront Park and Fish Arena facilities / establishments etc for practical use as well as tourist facilities.
